Christopher Pissarides

Sir Christopher Antoniou Pissarides is a British-Cypriot economist and Nobel economics Laureate. Pissarides is the School Professor of Economics & Political Science and Regius Professor of Economics at the world-renowned London School of Economics. In 2010, he was co-awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for analysis of markets with theory of search frictions, and in 2013 he was knighted.

Pissarides’ work focuses on macroeconomic topics including labour, economic growth and economic policy, and how they are affected by regulation and economic policies. Pissarides frequently contributes to academic journals, has spoken at Global Economic Forums and TEDx talks. He also speaks publicly on political economic issues and fiscal policy, advising on employment and labour supply challenges.
