New York, March 2013 – Brioni announces a partnership with not-for-profit organization Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) in support of Haiti’s children, through the Brioni program of student bursaries.
The collaboration, set to have a seven-year duration, aims to support the education of eighty students at APJ’s Academy for Peace and Justice.
The first important step will be the construction of the third wing of the Academy, set to open in late 2013, which will welcome eight hundred children from the poorest areas of Port-au-Prince.
“APJ is excited to have Brioni on board,” declared APJ founder Paul Haggis. “Great progress has been made in Haiti, but many challenges are yet to be faced. Brioni’s commitment is therefore very important for the future of this country.”
Brioni has always supported Artists for Peace and Justice by sponsoring important events, attended by such well-known names as Olivia Wilde, Gerard Butler, Ben Stiller, Jon Hamm, Lee Daniels and Pierce Brosnan, which have raised funds for the development of long-term projects.
“Paul Haggis and the APJ team are doing an incredible job in Haiti,” declared the CEO of Brioni USA, Todd Barrato. “In the name of the Brioni group, we are proud to help them support these children and happy to be able to promote their education.”
“We are very proud to be a part of this project,” declared Brioni managing director Francesco Pesci, “Supporting children’s education means supporting the future of this country. The construction of the third wing of APJ’s Academy for Peace and Justice is just the first step of what I am sure will be a long and rewarding collaboration.”
